Ford has recently teamed up with PlugShare®, the best in the industry of public charge stations, to produce an enhanced version of Ford’s MyFord Mobile App.  The app will now allow users access to all information pertinent to monitoring their electric Ford vehicle’s current charge, including the Ford Fusion Energi and the Ford C-Max Energi.  The app will also show the closest charging stations and pieces of information regarding each, including cost of the charge and what type of charging cord is used.

Once you have purchased a new Ford electric vehicle in Seattle, you are given access to this app which directly connects to your vehicle and finds your location when asked to.  The app will then show you the closest charging stations to your location and information regarding it.  It means that electric driving is no longer merely a local endeavor  but something that can be done over long trips.

“When we launched the MyFord Mobile app and portal for the Focus Electric last year, it was the most advanced remote management app of its kind in the industry,” Bill Frykman, business and product development manager for PlugShare®, told media. “We’re now expanding availability of the system to drivers of our new plug-in hybrids and offering some unique features specifically tailored to these long-range vehicles.”
